Freshink photoGRAPHY (19)

A picture is worth a thousand words someone once said.  If Dustin Bryson were a fruit, he would be a Kiwi. Hairy enough to make you think he is an animal... then you are proven wrong by his sweet juicy goodness. Not sure how that relates to photography so we will let Dustin's images speak for themselves.

The Surfing Violinist

Written by Patrick Engman

If you're looking to hang out with an interesting dude. Ford Seeuws is your man. He likes long walks on the beach, mud wrestling, karate and baking. He's a friend here at frshnk and a local surfer, musician and film maker. It was a Tuesday when Ford arrive at our studio for his scheduled shoot for his website. He brought a couple things that reflected his personality and interests. As you can see from the photo above, he has enough skills to attract any lady.

Bay Medical Awards Ceremony

Written by Patrick Engman

I received a phone call asking, "hey, are you here yet?" I felt a sudden pucker as I was supposed to shoot a ceremony but had not received a confirmation. Turns out, there was! Except it was confirmed 2 weeks prior to the event and somehow wasn't placed on the schedule! What the!? I got my things together, dove into my most hip outfit and booked it to the location. Fortunately, the location was about 4 minutes from my house. (I love living Downtown!) The elevator doors yawned open revealing a young, masculine, good looking half filipino photographer. My entry was gloriously unnoticed. Owell...

We make you look good!

Written by Dustin Bryson

One of the in house projects we have here at frshnk is called injoy studios.  Injoy is a 1100 square foot studio focusing on portrait, wedding photography and having fun.  While commercial work falls under the frshnk banner, all of our portrait work is done by injoy.  Don't get confused, the frshnk and injoy photographers are the same people, they just have to wear a few different hats.  Above is a new project the injoy studio is working on called Shot Blast.  It's a pretty simple idea really, grab a series of images from one subject projecting as many emotions or faces as they can in thirty seconds.  Drop by if your in the area and get your Shot Blast, uh ... er shot.

Bay Life/Vascular Associates cover gate fold

Written by Dustin Bryson

Who would have thought that a camera and a good eye would allow one to have such lofty adventures and meet such amazing people?  I have had the pleasure of traveling to exotic worlds and meeting celebrities all because of a little light box and a dash of talent.  Recently we have been photographing a lot of people in the medical profession.  People who work long hours to try and make other people's lives better.  Skilled craftsmen who take what they do very seriously because, at times, the tools that they hold can give life or take it away.  It is an awesome and awe inspiring thing.

Bay Med Tree Lighting Press Conf.

Written by Patrick Engman

Dustin and I swung by Bay Medical to shoot their Christmas tree lighting event this year. We snapped on our 50mm lenses, light winter clothes and dove out of our vehicles ready to take some real good pictures. Real good. What we hadn't anticipated was, a: the weather and b: the Christmas tree was across the street and about 75-100ft above ground level on the top of the Bay Medical Patient Tower. 50mm prime lenses were way too short to capture the tree up close. Fortunately, we had higher megapixel cameras to allows us some heavy cropping. Unfortunately, our faces were numb from the frigid, tundra-like weather. Then again, I may have been the only one freezing as I weigh less than a 6th grade, clarinet playing middle school girl.

Vascular Associates Open House - Raise the roof!

Written by Patrick Engman

I had the chance of swinging by Vascular Associates' building to shoot their open house. I have seriously never seen so much cheese until now. Everywhere I went, there were tables of delicious cheese cubes. It was awesome. Every office was open for tour. Even their networking system was open for explanation by the tech guys. It was definitely a higher-end building. I also got t o check out the marine life window murals Chris designed for them. It was like a real life aquarium!

Bay Medical Press Conf.

Written by Patrick Engman

So I got the opportunity to crawl into ongoing construction, molten metal, sweaty man chested workers wielding 500lb hammers and dragons. Did I grab your attention yet? Alright. I'm stretching the story a wee bit, but I'm doing it for your own good. Gotta spark up that brain stimuli. You must be bored at work!

Bay Medical Gala

Written by Patrick Engman

"Oh yea, I'm ready to party!" *Passes out into a sleep coma*  That's how I felt after I shot the Gala. Two photo ops were set up similar to a high school Prom, except one offered a picture with a Comedian. Pretty cool. Except in high school, everyone was a comedian. Not cool. After the photo op, I proceeded to shoot some candids of everyone sipping on their wine and talking about business. I could have sworn I saw a woman walk in with a completely transparent dress front wearing no bra. I know she likes to party.

How to Shoot A Conference

Written by Dustin Bryson

Shooting a conference should be fun. Period.  It's a butt load of people cramming into one place to learn something new and exciting, what's not fun about that?  Don't get bent out of shape when the lighting is too low or the aisles don't lend themselves to photographers ducking and weaving all over the place.  Give yourself a mental fist bump and get to shooting!

How To Shoot A Hospital

The client simply asked that we show the magnitude of the build out.  It is a massive build out so you would think that would be a relatively easy task

Less Conf

Written by Chris Merriam

A few months back we were honored when the guys at Less Everything asked us to provide still photography and video for their first ever conference.  We knew the fellas were going to do it up right, because that is simply how they roll, but we honestly had no idea it was going to be as awesome as it was.

First off the guys picked a great location with a beautiful conference center (nestled right on the river walk) and hoppin night life.  Second off (second off?) they had absolutely awesome speakers (Des Traynor & Eoghan McCabe of Contrast.ie, Kevin Hale of Woofoo, Mike McDerment of Freshbooks (a company FreshInk uses), Derek Sivers of CD Baby, and Gary Vee of ... well He's Gary Vee and more.  Top knotch speakers got brought some great stuff to the table and make the $200 or so bucks people paid to get it well worth it.

Check out the images here and we will let you know when the video goes live (read: viral).
